Treatments

  • Metal Braces

Metal braces are made from stainless steel and are the most commonly used braces. The braces are bonded (temporarily glued) to the tooth surface. Modern technology means that metal braces are now much smaller and less obvious than they were in the past. Orthodontic wires are held into the slot in the braces using small elastic o-rings which can come in a wide range of colours.

  • Ceramic Braces

Clear braces are made from a ceramic or polycarbonate material. The braces are slightly less obvious than more traditional metal braces due to their colour. Many teens and adults choose to have clear braces during their orthodontic treatment. Because clear braces are more brittle and prone to breakage than metal braces, they are not suitable for all types of treatment. We can discuss with you whether or not clear braces would be a suitable option when we examine your bite.

  • Invisalign

We offer treatment using the Invisalign clear aligner system. The Invisalign aligner system can be used to treat many orthodontic problems. The system is most commonly used for our adult patients who are looking for an alternative to traditional braces however the system can also be used on our younger patients.

    Invisalign aligners are:

Virtually invisible – discreet so no one will guess you are having Orthodontic treatment.

Removable – take them out to eat, drink, brush and floss. They can also be removed when playing sport, musical instruments or on those special occasions allowing you to keep the lifestyle you have while undertaking Invisalign treatment.

Personalised – Invisalign aligners are designed for you only and fit snugly around your teeth.

No nasties – BPA, BPS, latex, epoxy and gluten free; Invisalign aligners are made of medical grade high weight molecular polymers.

After an initial consultation we can discuss your treatment options and whether Invisalign treatment can achieve the results you are after.

  • Other Treatment Types

Certain orthodontic problems may require the use of other orthodontic techniques. This may include the use of removable appliances, fixed expanders, temporary anchorage devices or a combination of orthodontic treatment and corrective jaw surgery.
